DESCRIPTION:Participate in the UK’s largest inter-school active travel challenge from 16–27 March 2026. \nWhat You’ll Learn\nSchools can utilize free curriculum-aligned resources to integrate active travel and sustainability into daily operations\, fostering community engagement and environmental impact reduction. \nWho Should Attend\nThis event is ideal for primary and secondary schools across the UK\, including school staff\, pupils\, parents\, and families\, especially those focused on promoting active travel and reducing environmental impact. \nAbout the Event\nBig Walk and Wheel 2026 is the UK’s largest inter-school walking\, wheeling\, scooting and cycling challenge\, now in its 17th year and delivered by Walk Wheel Cycle Trust. Running from 16–27 March 2026\, this challenge inspires pupils and staff to make active journeys to school\, improving air quality in neighborhoods and promoting sustainable travel habits. Open to all UK schools including SEN/ALN/ASN schools\, the challenge is free to join with schools competing to record the highest percentage of pupils using active travel. Daily prizes are awarded to schools with significant participation.
