SUMMARY:Net-Zero Week 2025 - Breakfast & Briefing
DESCRIPTION:Net Zero Week is the UK’s official national awareness week\, tackling all things net zero. The government and industry backed initiative is marking its fifth anniversary in July 2025. To celebrate this milestone\, we are bringing a delegation of net zero stakeholders to Parliament to curate events for MPs and policy aides\, Peers and civil servants. \n\n\n\n\nBreakfast & Briefing | Humble hot water cylinder can play crucial role in path to Net Zero. Hosted by the Hot Water Association.\nNet Zero Week in Parliament is openly inviting MPs and policy aides\, Peers and civil servants to attend events between Monday 7th to Wednesday 9th July. \n*Please note\, this event was originally scheduled to take place at Portcullis House but has now moved to the Palmer Room at One Great George Street. \nIf you would like to attend this breakfast and briefing discussion\, please email the host Adrian Waddelove at info@hotwater.org.uk \nBriefing details: \nTuesday 8th July 2025 | 08:45 – 10:15 | Palmer Room\, One Great George Street. \nBriefing synopsis: \nThe UK’s dramatic shift from carbon-based electricity to renewable energy presents huge challenges for the national grid to match supply with demand. We spend over £1bn pa switching off wind farms because of insufficient demand for the power. Energy storage products\, such as hot water cylinders\, are needed to bank the excess energy when it is generated and therefore reduce peak demand that results in carbon emissions. \nIf the nine million hot water cylinders in the UK were smart connected to the national grid\, using existing technology\, they unlock 23GWh of green daily energy storage to reduce CO2 emissions. \n*This event is Sponsored by Josh Newbury MP. \nAttendance: \nBook your attendance at this breakfast and briefing event by contacting the host Adrian Waddelove at info@hotwater.org.uk
