Mastering Carbon Management: A Workshop for Sustainable Business Practices
Event Overview: Unlocking Sustainability Workshop
The “Unlocking Sustainability: Reducing Carbon Emissions for a Net-Zero Future” workshop is set for November 12, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM GMT. This three-hour online event targets small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and sole traders, emphasizing the essential role of carbon management in the UK’s goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
Hosted by Business in Bolsover in conjunction with Nottingham Trent University’s Nottingham Business School, this workshop will provide participants with the skills and resources to effectively lower their carbon footprint. SMEs contribute about 50% of total business emissions in the UK, making their engagement in reduction efforts vital.
The workshop includes three main sections:
- An introduction to carbon management
- Strategies for calculating carbon emissions
- The creation of a decarbonisation plan
Participants will learn key climate change terminology, understand relevant policy frameworks, and explore actionable steps for enhancing sustainability in their operations.
Attendees will receive a carbon emissions measurement tool to assist with future tracking and have the chance for a 30-minute one-on-one session with the workshop trainer.
This workshop is open to SMEs and sole traders based within the Bolsover District. It’s an excellent opportunity for businesses aiming to meet environmental regulations while improving efficiency and cutting operational costs.
Advance registration is necessary, and a £300 bursary might be available for attendees. For more details and to secure your spot, visit the Eventbrite page.
