SBS Community
A sustainable community
to help you stay on track.
With Scope 3 carbon emissions (value chain) accounting for around 80% of a businesses carbon footprint, our community is a place to collaborate, share ideas and connect with like minded businesses on the road to net-zero.
Sustainable Business Services (SBS) helps UK businesses understand, measure and reduce their environmental impact. Our services include carbon footprinting (Scopes 1, 2 and 3), net-zero strategy and delivery, ISO 14064-1, ISO 14068, PAS2080, SECR and PPN 006 reporting, supplier engagement, sustainability training, and ongoing outsourced environmental management. We combine practical consultancy with market-leading software to give businesses clear data, credible reporting and realistic action plans.
The SBS Net-Zero Program is designed for UK SMEs, mid-market organisations and growing businesses that need a structured, credible approach to net zero. It is particularly suited to organisations facing customer, investor or procurement pressure, including professional services, technology firms, manufacturers and organisations bidding for public sector work. The program scales with your business, from first-time carbon reporting through to science-based targets and annual reporting.
Yes. Scope 3 emissions and supply chains are a core focus of SBS’s work. We support businesses to identify material Scope 3 categories, collect and improve supplier data, and implement practical supplier engagement strategies. This includes supplier surveys, data-quality scoring, supplier charters and alignment to ISO 14064-1, SECR and SBTi expectations, helping businesses move beyond estimates towards defensible, decision-ready data.
Yes. While SBS is based in the North East of England, we work with businesses across the UK. Our services are delivered through a combination of remote consultancy, digital tools and on-site support where required. This allows us to support organisations nationwide, including those with multi-site operations and complex supply chains.
Timelines depend on the size and complexity of your organisation, but most businesses can establish a robust net-zero baseline and action plan within 4–8 weeks. This typically includes boundary setting, data collection, a verified carbon footprint and a prioritised reduction roadmap. SBS focuses on practical progress, ensuring plans are realistic, evidence-based and aligned to business objectives rather than theoretical targets.
Yes. Sustainable Business Services aligns all work to recognised UK and international standards, including SECR, PPN 006, the GHG Protocol, ISO 14064-1, ISO 14068, PAS 2080, Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and B Corp requirements. This ensures our reporting, targets and action plans are credible, comparable and suitable for compliance, procurement and stakeholder scrutiny.
