Key details

• Who can apply: Businesses with up to 249 employees that are registered at Companies House or VAT-registered with HMRC. Properties must be in the UK (Channel Islands and Isle of Man excluded).
• Funding limits: 75% of eligible wider building and installation costs up to £15,000 per site. Individual caps include up to £350 per chargepoint socket and up to £500 per parking space enabled.
• Minimum requirements: Works must be carried out on at least five parking spaces (sockets installed or prepared for future sockets) and at least one socket must be installed. A business may receive up to five grants across five different sites.
• Technical & procurement rules: Installers must be OZEV-approved and chargepoints must be on the eligible commercial models list. Parking spaces must be off-street, private and clearly defined. Installations required by building regulations or planning conditions (e.g. Part S) are not eligible.
• Financial limits: Do not exceed £315,000 in Minimal Financial Assistance (MFA) across the previous two and current financial years combined.
• Payment & audit: OZEV pays the grant to the installer after work is completed; the installer deducts the grant from your invoice. OZEV may audit installations and can withdraw installer registration if site visits are refused.
• Operational requirements: Complete any electrical supply upgrades, plan ongoing maintenance and cost allocation, and update fire risk assessments and safety measures.

Process overview (practical steps)

1. Speak to OZEV-approved installers and get written quotes that show eligible costs separately.
2. Confirm your budget (remember 75% contribution, subject to caps per socket/space and the £15,000 site cap).
3. Proceed with installation; installer submits the claim to OZEV after completion.
4. OZEV pays the installer; installer deducts the grant from your invoice. Keep documentation for audits.
