Sustainable Business

About This Event

The 5th Yorkshire and Humber Flood and Water Quality Conference takes place on 12 November 2026 at the Hilton Leeds City, organised by ICE Yorkshire and Humber in partnership with CIWEM Tyne and Humber branch. The conference runs from 8.30am to 5pm and is chaired by Professor Roger Falconer, an independent water consultant and ICE Yorkshire and Humber committee member. Tickets range from £72 to £240 including VAT, with reduced rates for ICE and CIWEM members, students, and local government staff. Ticket sales close on 11 November 2026. The event is sponsored by Arup.

The programme includes a keynote address from Lord Charles Banner of Keating Chambers on flood risk, water and the national planning policy framework. Four technical sessions cover managing growth, risk and safety in regional planning; integrated catchments, asset health and investment; case studies in flooding and water quality (with a parallel session on digital culture and engaging communities); and next generation flood resilience. Each session features multiple speakers and Q&A opportunities, with exhibition viewing and networking breaks throughout the day.

The conference addresses climate change impacts, flooding concerns and water quality challenges specific to Yorkshire and Humber. It brings together stakeholders in flood risk management and water quality to discuss solutions that reduce risk, enhance resilience and adapt to future climate impacts. The aim is to deliver better outcomes for residents and businesses across the region through collaborative working and knowledge sharing.
