Wales National Flood Conference 2026

Net Zero & Climate

About This Event

The Wales National Flood Conference 2026 is organised by the CIWEM Welsh branch in partnership with ICE Wales Cymru and takes place on 25 November 2026 at the Novotel Hotel in Cardiff Bay. Now in its 23rd year, this annual conference brings together flood risk management professionals from across Wales for a day of presentations and networking. The cost is £150 plus VAT for both members and non-members.

The conference explores three themes: "Policy and Betterment in Decision Making", "Adaptive Catchments and Coastlines", and "Shaping the Future: People, Skill and Resilience". Speakers include representatives from Welsh Government, Natural Resources Wales, Welsh Local Government Association, Cardiff University, Ceredigion County Council, SAB Society Wales, and consultancies including Arup, Binnies, JBA Consulting and Waterco Datrys. The day also features an Early Careers Poster Presentation Competition sponsored by Arup, with the award presented at the end of the conference.

This conference matters to UK SMEs working in flood risk management, environmental consultancy, or infrastructure because it provides current policy updates from Welsh Government and regulatory bodies, practical insights into adaptive approaches for catchments and coastlines, and information on skills and resilience planning. The event offers networking opportunities with public sector clients, consultancies and peers across the Welsh flood risk sector.
